CM Excursion : GIVERNY

GIVERNY

The History of French Painting

In Auvers sur Oise, open the doors of the Ravoux Inn, a site dedicated to the memory of the painter Van Gogh, and walk through the cemetery where he rests in peace.
Anecdote: discover the church that inspired Van Gogh for his famous work entitled \\\"The Church of Auvers\\\".

Giverny, a small village that owes its fame to a famous inhabitant: Claude Monnet, leader of the Impressionist School. The shimmering atmosphere of the artist\\\'s life can be found here: his flowery garden, his pond and his colourful house. This little haven of peace, strangely imbued with Japanese exoticism, is of a unique beauty.
